Just a little walk down the memory lane. *SlayerSyrena suggested recently that I'd fill this improvement meme so I thought "why not?" It was fun to put this together and see where I came from.
I decided to go a bit further and add some of my very first digital attempts from year 2006 - that was around the time when I got my first Photoshop 7 for my little laptop, and realized that I liked messing around with it. As you can see, at first I had little clue how to use all those different utilities so I started with simple shadings, color overlays and such. It was actually really difficult to find anything I painted during 2008-2009. Those four I managed to dig up are pretty much the only ones I did during those years since I spent almost all my time doing photomanips. All my manipulations have always included digital painting and those years have taught me a lot about working with Photoshop, so I do think it was time well spent. Eventually I wanted to return to digital drawing and painting, though... and here I am. As funny as it might seem, everything I can do today is based on those first difficult, inspiring and frustrating years with Photoshop. Every single artwork posted in this meme has been something I've been very proud of at the time I created it - even though at the moment some of the oldest ones make me grimace a little. It has been a long road, but as you can see lots of things can happen in six years.
this.....is......AWESOME!!! your really good all i do is draw sketches of Cicero and Babette attempting ti make them look realistic (like in this drawing) but having them turn out all cartoony and cute (like in this drawing down the bottom) I wonder what your drawings will look like next year!
I loved seeing this! Well done by the way. It's great for someone like me to see your development as I am at the beginning of mine really. You've done amazingly!
Haha ^^ I think my skills we be nearly the same... I started digital drawing with 16, but I didn't like it that much and now I adooooooore it!!!! But I really really like the way you draw nature. I wish I was as half as good as you ._." well I don't succeed doing lineouts digitally. The problem is, that I don't succed in sizes and measures...
