Oblivion: Brief Moment Of Freedom by Isriana Oblivion: Brief Moment Of Freedom by Isriana
...and that pretty much sums up my first hours in Oblivion. ^^; Note to self: when you see guards do not approach - and definitely don't go asking them directions when you carry stolen goods with you.

So yeah, that can happen if you're used to Skyrim guards who have a bit less psychic abilities than their Cyrodilic equivalents. As you see, Brenna's thieving career didn't quite get the stellar beginning I had hoped for... In all honesty, if I had my very own Oblivion theme song this would be it: [link] So. Many. Sentences. Served.
Ah, well. At least I'm having fun... :XD:

However, in both games I think they are psychic enough to know a murder occured.

A chicken or a horse saw you kill the dude. They can somehow report criminal activity to hold guards.

I saw a mod once that adds that jackass to Skyrim, just so you can sacrifice him to Boethiah.

Really, the guards of the Elder Scrolls deserve praise. Sure, they comlain and bitch about everything... but a single guard will still charge Alduin himself if the bugger arrives, and each guard has the detective skills of Sherlock Holmes, being able to see if you stole something across the province.

I had the exact same reaction as Brenna in panel 3 when I started Oblivion a couple of weeks ago :3

I also tried to come back to jail as a visitor to try and taunt that damned dunmer but, sadly, I couldn't find his cell :(

And when I started playing as a mage, I also discovered that, apparently, cyrodiilic jails have magical bars that prevent fireballs to get through...

Omg, dude, I had the same problem when I first got into Oblivion. They took all my money and when I went to go rob people to get more money, they would just throw me in jail again T_T I was just trying to get enough coins to pay for a room at the inn! I needed to level up!
So I was a hobo for the first few hours of the game. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this stuff happen to me.

That Dunmer is almost literally the polar opposite of Dunmer you meet at the beginning of TES III: Morrowind ...

Also, Skyrim guards logic : arrest you for stealing a potato, make a scene to put you in jail (yooou have comitted criiimes against Skyrim blahblahblah...) and epicly do NOTHING when you walk out a free man after lockpicking your cell lock. :p

On the mission where you kill him i had the fine so high they didn't stop to give my options they just attacked.

i had tried sneaking round the guards, got caught then ended up fighting my way through.

My quest i had to talk to same higher up guard/captain, but couldn't because he would attack me on sight because my fine was so high. My last save point was like 10 quests ago too.
