SWTOR: Rakghouls Everywhere by Isriana SWTOR: Rakghouls Everywhere by Isriana
Thanks, game - I can't think of a lovelier way to start a new session than being instantly attacked by a horde of husks plague carriers. :XD: So yeah, the zombie apocalypse rakghoul event started and I found out that I picked the most unfortunate time to do my diplomatic missions on Alderaan. Not that the outbreak is limited to the planet - I can't even check my mail on Dromund Kaas these days without someone randomly exploding on my face and infecting me with the rat rakghoul plague.

Ugh....I thought that rakghoul nonsense ended when Darth Malak freaking reduced Taris to rubble in KOTOR...

Nah, rakghouls are like cockroaches - even after everything else is gone they still remain... :XD:

Well fuckberries...An interesting side note is that some weird magical amulet that ended up on Taris due to a mandalorian starship crashing there is the reason for the plague. SO sayeth the star wars comic books.

Also I wonder what happened to those undercity peoples in KOTOR that went searching after paradise when I gave them the datapads.

They just about reached the Promised Land as Malak started his attack, so they survived the initial bombardment and had supplies to last a while... but eventually they died out about halfway between KotOR1 and tOR. Republic players find journals in the ruins that reveal their sad fate.

On a related note, the Taris government supposedly had time to go down into a secure bunker that was even lower than the Undercity and be frozen in carbonite. I consider that utter BS. Malak gave no warning that he was going to bombard the planet - he didn't even bring up the Sith troops that were occupying the city. There was no reason for the government to go into hiding.
Fortunately, Imperial players get to close that particular plot hole with some well-placed explosives.

Well shit, I guess I should have just given that one guy the datapads for the credits if it meant freaking nothing in the end.

Why take a darkside point and subject them to immediate doom? Giving the Outcasts the way to find the Promised Land (and giving them a supply of the Rakghoul vaccine) was never a guarantee. Even in KotOR1, it was clear to me that what Revan gave them was a chance for a better life. We never knew in KotOR1 if they'd make it, we just had to hope.
As I said, tOR reveals that they made it. The hope builds that maybe you'll find their descendants... and then each new journal gets more and more bleak until you find the last one and know that they didn't survive the whole 300 years :(

They need to do that event again. I had so much fun ganking reps in the tunnels and spreading the plague on the fleet :D
Besides, I want the mount. Just a little more reputation...
