Sisters

Wooo, an actual painting for once... As you can probably tell by some of my recent comics, I've played quite a bit of Guild Wars 2 lately. I wanted to draw something about the origins of my human noble, and - since I chose the dead sister background story - I decided to make a portrait of my mesmer Kristabel and her sister Deborah. This takes place few years before the events of the game, soon after Deborah was accepted into a decorated Seraph unit, Falcon Company. Kristabel insisted they'd commission a painting of two of them together to commemorate the promotion. In the end Debs agreed to pose next to her in a new Seraph uniform - slightly embarrased and probably finding the whole thing rather superfluous, but willing to humor her little sister's whims nonetheless.
I picture Kristabel returning to this painting numerous times after hearing the news of Deborah's entire unit being wiped out by a centaur ambush. To her it would serve as a reminder of happier days - and the ever so slight hope that her sister might still be somewhere out there.
