So, I bought Pillars of Eternity during Steam's summer sale, and boy am I glad I did. It's been a while since I've played a game like PoE and it honestly feels so refreshing - I've been having a lot of fun exploring this new world with my party.

Obviously, some fan art had to ensue. So, here is my personal take on my Watcher. After four hours (I'm not even exaggerating here) in character creation screen I finally managed to make up my mind long enough to actually click the “Done” button. I wanted to be so many things all at once, but alas, one can only pick one... I decided to start with a Pale Elf, a drifter Druid from The White that Wends. I couldn’t find any info about naming conventions from that part of the world, but since “Glamfellen” sounds vaguely Nordic/Scandinavian to me, I ended up naming her Usva which hopefully sounds lore-friendly enough. It’s also a Finnish word for “mist”, so I think it works pretty well considering her pallid color scheme and the druidish nature theme.

I haven't played as a druid since my Neverwinter Nights 2 days, but so far it seems like a really nice and versatile choice. Offensive spells, defensive spells, healing spells, melee, spiritshifting (unsurprisingly, I chose the cat form)... Works in almost any kind of party combination, it seems. I also rather like this "arctic druid" concept for backstory reasons. As far as I understand, The White that Wends is pretty icy and barren when it comes to plant life, and that sounds like a plausible enough reason for a person with nature affinity to venture far north in search of greener pastures (hehe). Plus, she is a literal outlander who comes from a vastly different place - meaning I get to ask all kinds of dumb and obvious questions and it won’t even be out of character. I know barely anything about the world I am entering, but my character wouldn’t be particularly knowledgeable either. So in a sense, it's two clueless ones exploring the Eastern Reach…
