Hi everyone!
I hope you've all had a great weekend. I know I sure did, the highlight of it being the annual Ropecon, where I went on Saturday with my brother and my best friend.  I cosplayed as Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones, and for the first time I actually made the whole outfit from the scratch. I've never sown a dress before so I must say I'm pretty satisfied with the result... :D
In other news, I'm off to Scotland this week so you probably won't see me online between August 1st and 10th. I visited Scotland for the first time last summer and the whole trip was so awesome I just had to get back there - can't wait to see the highlands again! This year I'll be visiting places such as Edinburgh, Inverness, Lindisfarne, Black Isle - and the island of Skye which I'm especially looking forward to. *charges the camera and packs half dozen memory cards* I really hope it'll be as memorable trip as the last one! :eager:
So that's about it, we'll see if I have time to draw something before I leave - otherwise you'll see more artwork from me sometime mid-August. Cheers and take care!

Hugs,
Isriana :tighthug:

Update: Aug 3rd

Greetings from Edinburgh! It has been lovely few days and the weather has been incredibly good so far. I don't think I've ever seen such a clear blue sky in Scotland before... :XD: Yesterday I visited Alnwick and Lindisfarne which were both beautiful and really impressive places - I never seem to get enough of Scottish castles. Today I took a train to Inverkeithing to see my first Highland games ever. It was an interesting thing to see though it was quite windy (to say the least). Also, I have never seen that many bagpipes in one place - I feel like I can still hear a faint buzzing in my ears, lol.

New adventures ahead tomorrow! :la: I'll post another update whenever I can. Take care everyone!

 Update 2: Aug 6th

Update time! :D I'm on my way to Inverness now (cheers to Scotrail for their free wi-fi) and admiring the landscapes as we rush by the eastern coast. Weather is still almost unnaturally good - let us hope it will last. I went to see the Edinburgh Military Tattoo yesterday and it was fantastic. Such an impressive show and we even got pretty good seats.

Anyway, I would've gladly stayed in Edinburgh longer, but then again it's great to see the highlands again. I really hope these past few days will be as amazing as the rest of the trip. Hugs to all and take care!

Update 3: Aug 9th

So, my trip is almost finished now and I'm leaving Inverness behind as we speak. It's been an amazing few days though. On Tuesday I got to meet with lovely Helena-Lou which was lots of fun - there was so much to talk about I really hope we'll get to meet again. Even though we didn't have a lot of time it was great to meet face to face and see the person behind the username.
On Wednesday I finally got to see Skye which was something I wanted to do the last time we were in Scotland but at the time we simply didn't have room for that trip. The beginning of the trip wasn't all that promising, though. It was raining, we were an hour late and there was an accident on the road which held our buss even further - for a moment we thought we might never get there. Anyway, the moment we arrived to the west coast it was all sunshine and blue skies. Skye was just as amazing as I thought and those few hours there left me yearning for more. Next time I definitely want to stay there longer!
Yesterday I took a trip to far North to see the most northern part of Scotland: John o'Groats and the stone stacks of Duncansby Head. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit Orkney islands, but maybe another time... :D
Anyway, it was an amazing journey all in all, and now it's time to head back home.

:new: Update 4: Aug 10th

After a full day of traveling (from Inverness to Edinburgh to Heathrow to Helsinki) I'm finally home. It was such a wondeful trip and I'm sad to leave Scotland behind - I will be back, I promise. I would've gladly stayed longer, but on the other hand... My bed! My computer! All my preciouses!

Anyway, it's good to be back. Take a look at some travel photos here.

Scotland has to be one of my favourite cities in the world. Walking through the Edinburgh mausoleums up to the Castle in the morning light is breathtaking.
Did you get to visit St. Mary King's Close whilst you were there? They're a maze of collapsed streets under the streets, stuffed with old houses, even ghosts apparently ;)

Been to Lindisfarne too, though you were definitely luckier with the rain..the abbey was submerged a foot high in water, we had to camp out in the church to hide from the rain lol
The wine shop was well worth a browse though
