Some News And Tag

Tue Jul 19, 2011, 4:58 AM
Hello, everyone! It's been a while again. ^^;
I've been on summer holiday but I've had lots of things to do, so once again I'm lagging behind when it comes to answering comments and browsing through deviations. Some weekends I've spent at our family's summer cottage without internet connection and during others I've ran around at medieval festivals taking photos like crazy (in case you'd like to see photos of latter event, take a look at my stock account *Eirian-stock). :la: I recently bought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the first Neverwinter Nights so I have spend a lot of time playing them, too.
I've had some freelance reporter jobs during the summer and there's a bigger project starting in the beginning of August.Good thing I'm not heading back to uni until September, so I have time to relax a bit before I'll have to bury myself under the books again. About studies, I got the results for my Bachelor's Thesis: my fantasy themed novel analysis earned me an A! It was a lot of hard work so I'm really glad it paid off. Now it won't be long until I'll be the Bachelor of Arts.
Anyway, I hope you've all had a great summer! It's raining here today, so I think I'll continue my day with some Ursula Le Guin and few mugs of coffee.

Hugs,
Isriana

I got tagged by :iconfomalhaut48:, so here are ten random facts about me for you. :D

Rules:
:bulletgreen: You must post these rules
:bulletgreen: Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on the same journal
:bulletgreen: Choose 10 people, tag them and post their icons
:bulletgreen: Tell them you tagged them on their journal
:bulletgreen: No tag backs
:bulletgreen: No cheating in the tagging section about "you are tagged if you read this." You legitimately have to tag ten people.

1. I love going for long walks in the middle of the night when everyone else is sleeping.

2. My room is in horrific state of chaos at all times. My family stopped caring long time ago, but it occasionally still drives my boyfriend crazy (probably when he tries to picture what will our future home look like). Poor dear. :XD:

3. I have a red belt (2nd kup) in taekwondo.

4. I seem to be a general addict – a good novel, tv series, movie, PC game... It takes just a moment and I am enthusiastically, ridiculously hooked. That's the reason why I have seen every season of CSI for at least four times, and why I can cite Lord of the Rings by heart.

5. I live with my grand parents and I love it.

6. I'm an escapist and I spend a lot of time inside my head imagining things that don't exist. Therefore things I love and find important often have little meaning for people around me, and I strike them as odd. Einstein said it all: The question that sometimes drives me hazy: Am I or are the others crazy?

7. I drink more coffee than is good for me, and I don't care.

8. Music is a major source of inspiration for me whenever I create an artwork (as you can see here and especially in my other account *Iribel). Almost every piece of art has a song behind it even though it might not always be listed in the decription.

9. I have 7 younger brothers and a little sister. Not all of them living under the same roof, though.

10. I'm obsessed with notebooks. I keep buying them even though I really don't need them – at this very moment I have four drawers full of them (I'm not even kidding) and more than half of them are blank. I definitely have too many of them and yet they would be among the first things I'd try to get out of a burning house. My preciousssss ones.

And now the poor souls I'm going to tag (yeah, there won't be ten alright):

I'm glad to see you back, hope you enjoy you holidays! And congratulations fro the thesis, I'm doign a dissertation or memory (I'm not sure of the english word sorry) and hell, it's hard! :D
I hope also you will find Never 1 & Kotor great, and I would love to see fanarts of these games if it inspire you. Or any art you will produce, really !

Funny the 6 and some other of your tagg, we both like the same things it seems ^^ (maybe I will redo this tagg, finally!)
Good luck also for your project and jobs ^^

It's good to be back, hopefully I manage to avoid such long hiatuses in future... :D Thanks a lot! Uh, I can believe it - it sure sounds difficult. My thesis was about how the fantasy novel in question utilized Nordic myths and mythology, and how this material helped building the secondary world. It was tough even though I was familiar with the subject - I don't even want to think what it will be like to do a Master's Thesis!
I have enjoyed both of them, a lot. And no worries, there will be fan art and plenty of it, too. I have four or five comics in making about KotOR alone... ^^; If only there were more hours in the day!
Yay, it's great to know that there are others who feel the same. Good luck with yours, too!

We agree on almost everything... :D Except for the takewondo one (I gave up karate at the orange belt), the grandparent one, and the fact that I'm an only child :P

Oh, and that my boyfriend is messier than I am, which causes my parents a lot of headache :D

(About NWN1, just a warning: do not get too attached to the character named Fenthick! I did, and after Chapter 1 ended I couldn't play it for a month without getting tears in my eyes :tears:)

Heh, it's good to know I am not alone... :D My boyfriend is definitely the neater one of us (well, most of the people are compared to me) - I guess should learn to be more organized even for his sake, lol.
Uh, too late. I already finished chapter one and felt pretty upset because of what happened to him... :( Fenthick was such a nice character. At this point of the game Aribeth is not handling it too well, either. Other than that I'm quite enjoying the game especially since I don't know really anything about the plot (even though it's a bit backward to play NwN1 after NwN2). I'm only at chapter two but my head is already bubbling with comic ideas... :XD:

I wrote a love-drama with Fenthick and my heroine (I never liked Aribeth for some weird reason), but it's in horrible English and feels horribly cheesy (the only actual good part is when he dies). He's definitely one of my faves.

What kind of character are you playing?

I'm not huge fan of Aribeth either. For some reason every time she spoke during chapter one I had a sudden urge to rip the speaker cord out of the receptable... It was a bit too much lawful goodness even for me. :XD:
Well... As unimaginative as it is, my character is a good aligned druidess with red hair and lots of persuasion skill points - not named Izalie, though. ;) Druid is probably my favorite D&D class since it allows me to use both spells and melee attacks. I've noticed that whenever I play a fighter I spend half of the time thinking how cool it would be to cast Call Lightning or Ice Storm upon bunch of ferocious orcs. And when I choose a spellcaster class I keep fretting about having light armor and some sad quarterstaff as my only protection.
What about you? I can't remember whether I have seen anything about your NwN1 character in your gallery. :)

There are a few pics, but now I prefer illustrating my NWN2 fics (and when I depart on the 31st to Turku, I probably won't use the university scanner), but mostly writing. I always play a different class because I like to try out something I've never done before. In NWN1 OC I made a cleric girl (multiclassed as druid and wizard so I could have a hawk and a pixie flying around), gave her martial weapon competence and generally ran around hacking my enemies with a flaming greatsword. Also picked the Magic domain for effective spells. In SoU (I hate that campaign), I made a bard who ALWAYS died, but at least avoided paying for most things as she could simply sing a song. Then in HotU I played with a sorceress/red dragon discple (I know it's supposed to be the same character as in SoU, but I can twist the plot any way I can, I even found a plausible explanation for my MotB heroine not to be the same as in NWN2), she was pretty good (except in close combat, that is.) In NWN2 I used a rogue, in MotB a druid, and in SOZ I could finally try out a Chaotic Evil wizard as a side character. :)
Oh, and my (weak) NWN1 drawings here:
Me and Fenthick for #TheMoonstoneMaskInn's contest: [link]
And you can see quite a few of them here: [link]
*Amaethil drew this for me: [link]

And sorry for the hell long reply, but I always make up complicated stories and amazed when people actually ask.

That's a great variety! Now I think I want to try multiclassing in that game, too... :D Cleric is probably only one of those I haven't played myself at some point. In NwN2 I have actually tried pretty much every class, race and background combination - mostly out of curiosity, since I love to see how the plot changes with different choices and characters, even if it is only one different line some random NPC says at some point. But druid/fighter Izalie and rogue/ranger/shadowdancer/invisible blade Lucibel are the only ones with whom I have played the game further. I have another character for NwN1, too, Bard and Harper-scout-in-training but I haven't managed to play the game too far with him yet. I bought NwN1 Platinum Collection that includes both SoU and HotU so I'll have hours and hours of FR fun still ahead.
Not to mention that I have yet to complete NwN2 official campaign... :ashamed:
Ah yes, I remember seeing "Stay with me" previously - though at the time I didn't know who Fenthick was. ^^

HotU is amazing, and NWN1 OC has some great twists. Out of all, I love SOZ the most for you can choose which character you want to speak. So if someone asks for help, I sometimes had the following options (some are the same, some vary):
PC1 (neutral good ranger/harper agent): "I'll see what I can do."
PC2 (lawful good cleric): "Let me help."
PC3 (chaotic neutral rogue/shadowdancer): "Hm, what about the payment?"
PC4 (chaotic evil wizard/arcane scholar): "Count me out."/[Lore] -insert something about FR history- (she had 22+ Intelligence)
